The Third Annual Benchmark Study on Patient Privacy & Data Security conducted by the Ponemon Institute and sponsored by ID Experts found that healthcare organizations face an uphill battle in their efforts to stop data breaches.  While some organizations have taken steps to strengthen their privacy and security programs the research indicates the majority lack budget and resources to prevent or detect breaches.
